The lovechild of food writer and Guardian journalist Tim Hayward, Fire & Knives is a food and drink magazine with a difference. In an age when attention spans are shortening and much food writing is reduced to celeb chef hagiography or gastroporn, Fire & Knives gives talented writers space to do justice to their ideas in a way that would not be published elsewhere. The result Fire & Knives writers dominate the Food Journalist of the Year category in the Guild of Food Writers Awards. Tim brings a panel of those writers to Stoke Newington to read their work and discuss food and drink.
