Year three of this eclectic, amusing, inspiring, sometimes audacious and always brilliant festival, set up to celebrate the area's radical thinking and literary heritage.
A very special afternoon as Stoke Newington honours one of its most famous literary residents. First an eminent panel comprising Christopher Fowler, Kim Newman, Barry Forshaw, Pat Cadigan and Stephen Jones discuss the works and incredibly wide ranging and enduring influence of Poe across the cultural landscape. This is followed by the legendary Steven Berkoff discussing his own dramatic adaptation of the Poe classic, The Tell Tale Heart, currently touring. Immediately after this event, Berkoff will be unveiling a bust of Poe outside the Fox Reformed restaurant – the site of the school Poe attended while living in Stoke Newington. This event will have an interval and will last just over 2 hours.
