In June 2020, Soma Sara founded Everyone’s Invited, an anti-rape movement which allows survivors of rape culture to share their stories anonymously online. Her book of the same name is a collection of essays examining the structural inequality that allows violence against women and girls to take hold, covering subjects from porn to the patriarchy. She speaks with fellow activist and campaigner Jamie Klingler who co-founded Reclaim These Streets and organised the vigil for Sarah Everard which saw the organisation take on the Met in the High Court – and win. They ask whether real change can happen in communities like Hackney and if so, what needs to be done by everyone – parents, friends, educators, policy makers, the police, community organisations and everyone in between.
